As Outreach Coordinator for Grassroots Coalition my challenge is getting volunteers to fall in love with Environmentally Sensitive Habitat in the Ballona Watershed so they want to save it. Beyond Maps solved my problem.
First, I asked Mark to identify these areas on a large general map I could bring to meetings. I had one printed 4 foot by 4 foot. I also made small copies for people who wanted to take them home. Second, we focused on mature trees in this apartment complex on the right. Herons and other large birds historically used these trees for their nests. We called it the potential “chainsaw massacre”. Again we printed a large map and smaller meeting handouts.

We have continued to enlist Beyond Maps on projects like these because it helps volunteers quickly grasp the importance of their involvement.

"I have been using Mark at Beyond Maps for about five years, and he has become integral to the success of my business. Turnaround times are fantastic, and because he is experienced in archaeology and the CRM world, I never have a problem getting across what my GIS needs are. This saves me time and expense, and as a small business, that allows me to keep my own clients happy and myself sane. It's a relief to be able to work with such reliable and professional service..."

I engaged Mark Neal to create a series of maps for my first historical adventure novel 'Beyond the Bitter Sea'. The novel was published in 2014 and is currently available on Amazon.com in both printed and Kindle editions.

I was more then pleased with his work as he developed maps which show the path of the protaganist's journey using the ancient names and boundaries of those countries that take place in the novel. I am now working on my second novel "Requiem for Ani and will use his talents again.
